The host greeted us and asked us how many. We said three and we entered the hall following the pretty red headed girl. The place was done up picnic style today. Long wooden picnic tables with red and white checkered table cloths were everywhere.

The center of the room was a long table and it was covered with al types of goodies. There was succulent looking fried chicken, potato salad, coleslaw, and biscuits. Not to mention all the other fixings for a traditional southern meal, gravy, jelly, and homemade hot sauces, for condiments. Then there were collard greens with ham hocks in them and corn on the cob dripping with melted butter.

After the hostess seated us we all got up and made huge plates of the wonderful picnic food. The three of us sat back down and proceeded to gorge ourselves. For a few minutes all was right with the world.
